CITY TOUR AND GOLD MUSEUM:

You will be driven to the "Plaza Mayor", the newly refurbished main square, where you will appreciate majestic colonial architecture. Flanking the square are the Government Palace where Francisco Pizarro took up residence in 1538; the Cathedral which houses Pizarro's remains and where you will visit the on site museum; the Archbishop's Palace with its beautiful balconies; and the Town Hall. Later, you will be driven to the residential district of Monterrico to visit Lima's Gold Museum, one of Peru's largest private collections. Situated in the grounds of the family residence of the late Peruvian diplomat Miguel Mujica Gallo, who spent a lifetime amassing this collection, the museum displays countless superb examples of pre-Hispanic gold, silver and copper articles. Included are magnificent necklaces, bracelets, rings, masks, vases, erotic pottery, tools, statuettes, and many others. There is also a fine collection of textiles and a remarkable collection of antique weapons and uniforms from all over the world.

3rd day: Lima/Puno


Private transfer from the hotel to the airport.

Flight from Lima to Juliaca by Lan Peru.

SILLUSTANI TOMBS:
Private transfer from the ariport to Puno city. On the way, visit around 45 minutes the famous Chullpas Sillustani, 12 m/40ft high stone cylinder burial chambers, used by the Aymaras to bury their important leaders.

4th day: Puno/Titicaca Lake/Puno


UROS FLOATING ISLANDS - LLACHON PENINSULA:

A 40-minutes-trip to the Uros floating islands. Uros is the name of the ancient inhabitants of the Titikaka lake, known as the "Water Tribe". They have periodically built their own islands by weaving and adding stratified "Totora". Totora is a kind of reed, unique of this area. Here you will have the opportunity of navigate a typical "totora" boat. Then, you will continue your trip to Capachica Peninsula for visiting the rural community of Llachón. Llachón hosts unique characteristics of alive culture, as well as biodiversity and archeological resources with an excellent location at this peninsula. Here you could have a customized contact and the chance to enjoy a physical and human environment by participating of local inhabitants traditions and life style. In this beautiful place, you will share and learn about the behavior of this friendly people and even have lunch with them. You will also have the facility to wear typical clothes as well as learn their customs. Return to Puno.

5th day: Puno/Cusco


At the appointed time, private transfer to the train station.

TRAIN RIDE FROM PUNO TO CUSCO:

This spectacular rail journey, in the Andean Explorer Luxury begins in the ancient Puno, in the shores of Titicaca lake and travels to the historic Cusco. On the journey the train makes a gentle climb to higher and cooler altitudes. The first half of the journey is dominated by the magnificent Andean mountains which tower over the deep valleys of the meandering Huatanay River. It then reaches the gentler, rolling Andean plains where vicuñas and alpacas could be seen. Traveling , the glass-walled observation wagon, provides the perfect opportunity to view the beautiful scenery. There is a scenic stopover at La Raya, which is also the highest point of the route.

6th day: Cusco


CITY TOUR AND NEIGHBORING RUINS: Private City tour for 3 hours through the beautiful Cusco city and its nearby ruins. The tour will show you the amazing colonial city built on the foundations of the Inca palaces. You will visit the Koricancha or Temple of the Sun, where you can appreciate the incredible masonry of the Incas, the Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral with its carved woodworks, altars and paintings. Then you will be driven to the Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman, to the underground cave and temple of Kenko and to Tambomachay, known as the Baths of the Inca. Finally you will visit the Misminay Exhibit, Misminay is a native community of Cusco, there you will be able to appreciate their beautiful handcrafts.

7th day: Sacred Valley


PISAC MARKET AND OLLANTAYTAMBO RUINS:

Full day Sacred Valley tour visiting Pisac Market, where you will have the opportunity to shop handicrafts in its lively and colorful Indian market. The tour continues towards the impressive Pisac ruins and ends visiting the Inca Fortress of Ollantaytambo. the Incas built the latter as a fort that included a temple, agricultural terraces, and an urban area. There are two distinct sectors: Araqama Ayllu, the religious and worship zone, and Qosqo Ayllu, the residential area. Ollantaytambo was an important administrative center with probable military functions if one considers the walls and towers. There are also traces of ancient roads and aqueducts. The town of Ollantaytambo is called a Living-Inca-Town since the inhabitants maintain very old practices and customs.

8th day: Machu Picchu


Private transfer from the hotel to the train station.

MACHU PICCHU VISIT:

Train ride towards Machu Picchu, in the Hiram Bingham, the new luxury train service that runs from Poroy Station to Machu Picchu in 3 and a half hours. This new elegant and luxiourious service will make you will feel like in a 5 stars hotel. It consists in 4 cars - 2 dining cars, a bar car and a kitchen car. Brunch is served on board and guides are present to explain points of interest on route, as well as in Machu Picchu on arrival at the ancient citadel. An afternoon tea is served in the Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge, after your arrival, located just steps from the entrance to the Ruins. You will arrive to the Aguas Calientes station in Machu Picchu where you will be transported by bus to the top of the mountain and citadel of Machu Picchu, one of the most renowned examples of Inca architecture, surrounded by lush cloud forest. Lost in history, it was not discovered until 1911 by the American explorer Hiram Bingham.
After a two hours guided visit of the ruins, you will have lunch at a restaurant.

9th day: Machu Picchu/Cusco


SECOND DAY IN MACHU PICCHU:

Second visit to Machu Picchu ruins or guided climb the Huayna Picchu peak, the great mountain behind the citadel. The guide is not included.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
At the appointed time, you will return to the station.

Train ride back to Cusco in the Hiram Bingham luxury category. 

Cocktails and a gourmet dinner will be served during the journey.

10th day: Cusco/Puerto Maldonado


Private transportation to the airport to take the flight to the City of Puerto Maldonado.

LODGE - DISCOVERING THE JUNGLE:

Transportation from the airport to the river port. Travel on outboard motorboat down the Madre de Dios River to the Lodge. Welcome and lunch at the lodge. Afternoon walk through the trails inside the Inkaterra Ecological Reserve. Later, you will sail the Madre de Dios River by night. Return to the lodge for dinner. In the evening you will nocturnal speeches about the Amazon Nature.

11th day: Puerto Maldonado


ROLIN ISLAND COMMUNITY:

Tropical breakfast buffet. Visit the Rolin Island Community. Return to the lodge for lunch. By the afternoon, visit the Canopy Interpretation Center and walk through treetops and wetlands. Dinner at the lodge. Later, evening Nature Presentations on Amazonian topics.

Overnight at the Inka Terra Reserva Amazonica Lodge.

12th day: Puerto Maldonado


TREK THROUGH THE JUNGLE:

Tropical breakfast buffet. Walk through the Tambopata National Reserve. Dinner at the lodge. Later evening Nature Presentations about Amazonian topics.

12th day: Puerto Maldonado/Lima


LAST DAY IN THE JUNGLE:

Tropical breakfast buffet. Return to Puerto Maldonado, on the way visit to the Butterfly Farm at Puerto Maldonado. Private transfer to the airport.
Airline ticket to Lima.
