A Mystical Experience of Peru (14 days)

1st day: Lima

Upon your arrival reception at the airport and transfer to the selected Hotel.

Overnight at the selected hotel.

2nd day: Lima/Puno

Transfer from the hotel to the airport.

Flight Lima to Juliaca.


On your way to the hotel in Puno, visit around 45 minutes the famous Chullpas of Sillustani, 12 m/40ft high stone cylinder burial chambers, used by the Aymaras to bury their important leaders. Afterwards you will arrive at the selected hotel.

3rd day: Puno/Amantani

Transfer to Uros, these floating islands are inhabit by people known as the "Water Tribe" because they have built their own "islands" by periodically adding new layers of a type of reed unique to the area called "totora". Then transfer to Amantani island. After welcome you will take lunch with locals. At appropiate time you will start a hike, in which you will appreciate the local customs. Arrival to Pachatata ceremonial center, place where Amantani inhabitants deposit every year their oblations. In front of it is another center called Pachamama, where the rituals and worships to the cosmic deities take place.
Pay to the Mother Earth Ceremony at Amantani Island, you will offer up an oblation (representative, like seeds) to the mother earth (pachamama).

Return to family houses to take a typical dinner and overnight.

4th day: Amantani/Puno


Transfer from Amantani to Taquile island where you will do a four hours visit. You will arrive by the back side of the island and start a hike to appreciate the wonderful natural sightseeing, after ascending through a regular pendant slope you will arrive at the town, there you will visit the Handicraft Center where you could find a great variety of fine coloured hand made weaves. At proper time, transfer to Puno. Upon arrival transfer to the selected hotel.

5th day: Puno/Cusco

At the appropriate time, transfer to the Bus Station.


Departure for an eight hours trip towards Cusco, the Inka Express bus will stop in some interesting places to visit such as Raqchy Temple and some old Inca constructions. Marvellous scenery of landscape and typical animals like the "llama", "alpaca" will join you through this journey.

6th day: Cusco

City tour for 3 hours through the beautiful Cusco city and its nearby ruins. The tour will show you the amazing colonial city built on the foundations of the Inca palaces. You will visit the Koricancha or Temple of the Sun, where you can appreciate the incredible masonry of the Incas, the Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral with its carved woodworks, altars and paintings. Then you will be driven to the Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman, to the underground cave and temple of Qenqo and to Tambomachay, known as the Baths of the Inca. Finally you will visit the Misminay Exhibit, Misminay is a native community of Cusco, there you will be able to appreciate their beautiful handcrafts.


You will be part of a Pay to Mother Land Ceremony. This 40 minutes mystic sesion will be executed in a zone near to Sacsayhuaman fortress, at the Llaullapata forest.

7th day: Cusco/Sacred Valley


Full day Sacred Valley excursion. 31 km (19 miles) far from Cusco is Pisac, at the entrance of the Sacred Valley. Visit the colorful market that on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays a craft fair takes place where you can buy beautiful handicrafts and sourvenirs. The lunch will be served in a local restaurant. The tour continues towards Ollantaytambo, an archaeological site that the Incas built as a fort and includes a temple, agricultural terraces, and an urban area. There are two distinct sectors: Araqama Ayllu, the religious and worship zone, and Qosqo Ayllu, the residential area. Ollantaytambo was an important administrative center with probable military functions due to the walls and towers. There are also traces of ancient roads and aqueducts. The town of Ollantaytambo is called a Living-Inca-Town, since the inhabitants maintain very old practices and customs.

8th day: Sacred Valley/Machu Picchu

Transfer to the train station.


Arrival by Vistadome class train to Machu Picchu ruins. From Aguas Calientes station you will be transported by bus to the top of the mountain and to citadel of Machu Picchu, one of the most renowned examples of Inca architecture. The city of Machu Picchu is the department of Cusco’s most important tourist attraction and one of the new 7 Wonders of the World. Discovered in 1911 by the American explorer, Hiram Bingham, this city is considered to be one of the most extraordinary examples of scenic architecture in the world, built at the top of a granite mountain. The Incas, using ingenious engineering techniques, were able to transport heavy stone blocks up the mountain side, and once there, they used their excellent masonry skills to produce amazingly polished stones that fit together perfectly. After a two hours guided visit in the ruins, you will have lunch at a restaurant of the area.

9th day: Machu Picchu/Cusco


Entrance fee to visit Machu Picchu ruins or to climb the Huayna Picchu peak, the great mountain behind the citadel. The guide is not included.
 Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
At the appointed time, you will return to the station to take your train ride to Ollantaytambo station at the Sacred Valley.

Transfer from Ollanta Station in the Sacred Valley to Cusco Hotel.

10th day: Cusco/Puerto Maldonado

Transfer from the hotel to the airport. Private Service.

Flight ticket to Puerto Maldonado.


Arrival, reception and transfer to the Tambopata river port in Puerto Maldonado. After leaving the luggage that will not be necessary in the security lockers of the main offices of the shelter, you will start a 45-minute boat outboard to Posada Amazonas. On arrival, you will receive a brief talk about the facilities of the hostel and the trails, prior to the afternoon activity.
In this activity, visit a scaffolding tower 30 meters high, located 20 minutes walking from the lodge. The tower is built so you can climb easily and securely, using the internal staircase with handrails on each side. From the top you not only get spectacular view of the river and the surrounding forest but also excellent opportunities to observe birds including parrots, toucans and macaws. 11th day: Puerto Maldonado

Tres Chimbadas Oxbow Lake: Tres Chimbadas is thirty minutes by boat and forty five minutes hiking from Posada Amazonas. Once there you will paddle around the lake in a catamaran, searching for the resident family of nine giant river otters (seen by 60% of our lake visitors) and other lakeside wildlife such as caiman, hoatzin and horned screamers. Ethnobotanical Tour: A twenty minute boat drive downriver leads you to a trail designed by the staff of the Centro Ñape. The Centro Ñape is a communal organization that produces medicines out of forest plants and administers them to patients who choose their little clinic. They have produced a trail which explains the different medicinal (and other) uses of selected plants. Night walk. You will have the option of hiking out at night, when most of the mammals are active but rarely seen. Much easier to find are frogs with shapes and sounds as bizarre as their natural histories.

12th day: Puerto Maldonado


Parrot clay lick: This clay lick is only a twenty minute walk from Posada Amazonas. From a blind located about twenty meters away you will see dozens of parrots and parakeets descend on most clear mornings to ingest the clay on a river bank. Species such as Mealy and Yellow- headed Amazon, Blue-headed Parrot and Dusky headed Parakeet descend at this clay lick. The clay lick is active at dawn, during the late mornings and mid-afternoons. Ceiba Trail Hike: We leave from the lobby at Posada Amazonas and embark on a two hour hike crowned by the largest tree in the vicinity: a giant ceiba tree. During the hike we will focus on the natural history of the rain forest and its principal taxonomic groups. Farm Visit. A thirty minute boat drive downriver takes us to the most complete farm in the community of Infierno. The owner grows a diverse variety of popular and unknown Amazon crops. In his garden, just about every plant and tree serves a purpose.

13th day: Puerto Maldonado/Lima


Transfer Tambopata River Port to Pto Maldonado Headquarters.

Transfer Pto Maldonado Headquarters - Airport. We retrace our river and road journey back to Puerto Maldonado, our office and the airport.
Depending on airline schedules, this may require dawn departures.

Flight to Lima city.

Our guided visit to Lima allows you to see the Historical Center: Plaza Mayor ("Main Square"), the Government Palace, the Archbishop's Palace, the City Hall and old streets with colonial mansions and Moorish balconies. You will also visit one a historic convent, an icon of colonial architecture. The tour goes all the way to modern district of San Isidro, where you’ll appreciate Huaca Huallamarca, a pre Incan pyramid made out of adobe, and end up in the touristic district of Miraflores, where you will observe the Pacific Ocean coast from the vast seafront.
